If you have a Twisting the Hellmouth account, and you haven't voted in the Crossover Awards yet, please do! Several of the top categories are apparently very close at this point, and the first round of voting closes Wednesday.
I'm up for twenty-one this year, on 15 fics, as follows; I won't beg you to vote for me, because there are fics I admire more than my own up as well, but bless you, bless you if you do! I'm always amazed at the reaction I get at awards time on this site, considering how niche most of my crossovers are.

Last year I won three, and the year before I won three, but I'm only expecting maybe one or two awards this year; I have some pretty serious competition in most of those categories. Regardless, every vote I get (and every nom I had, I love you guys!) is a treasure. I don't mention feedback often, because I don't want to come off as a review whore, but every single piece of affirmation I get totally makes my day, every time.

Date: 2009-01-20 02:00 am (UTC)I've voted for you in 3 categories so far. Tomorrow, when time is running out, I'm going to take a quick skim through the nominees in those categories for fandoms that I know nothing about (e.g. CSI) and, unless one of the others manages to grab my attention in the first few paragraphs, I'll vote for you in those categories.
The standard of nominations appears to be lower this year than last. There are a few categories in which every single entry is rubbish (obviously not ones in which you are nominated) and in a couple of cases it is particularly frustrating for me as I have stories up there which outclass all the nominees by as much as an F-22 Raptor outclasses a Fokker Triplane - but they didn't get nominated. And I could have asked

Date: 2009-01-20 05:47 am (UTC)I hear you. I nearly didn't have time to make any nominations, either-- though I think I caught at least one of yours-- but my usual cheerleader didn't make any at all, and my best story of the last two years didn't make the nom lists, period.
Ah, well. There's always next year. Maybe I'll run a "nom these!" campaign post-2009. =)
And thank you for those votes! I really appreciate them.
