Woo-hoo! *waves New Years noisemakers around*

I'll be posting a new chapter of BAH and my Yuletide stories later today, but in the meantime, I had to share: the 2007 Crossover Awards votes are in, and I won three-- Best Drabble, Best Portrayal of Illyria, and Best Portrayal of Wesley.

I wasn't really expecting to win anything, and am endlessly grateful to everyone who voted for me. Thank you. Very, very much! And congratulations to all the other winners!

2007 Crossing Over Awards: It's Time to Vote!

(That is, if you have a TtH account-- but even if you don't, I've linked the stories to their TtH pages below so that you can see which were nominated and/or reread them, if you want).

These are the categories, and stories, I've earned nominations for: )

Thanks again to those of you who nominated me, and thanks in advance to those of you who may cast votes on my behalf!

Wow, looks like I won some awards while I was off in Real Life Land, too. I knew I'd been nominated in several categories in the Crossing Over Awards over at Twisting the Hellmouth, but given the competition I didn't think I'd win any. (There are a thousand plus authors at the site, and many times more than that in readers).

Well, I did! Three of them!

Here are my awards: )

The other nominations I received were: )

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who nominated and voted for me. The total of 20 nominations was astounding enough; the fact that I actually won anything is totally thrilling.

Thank you!

♥♥♥ to those who've nommed me at the TtH Crossing Over Awards! All three emails made me squeal like you wouldn't believe. I wasn't terribly surprised about the nom for the Beautiful series, as I'm pretty sure it's some of my best work despite being so short, but I was surprised anyone but me remembered Moonfall so fondly.

I don't expect to actually win anything, given the caliber of the top writers at that site, but I am terribly pleased to be nominated. Thank you, whoever you are!

Squee!

Huzzah! I won an award for my fic Harry Potter and the Book of Amun Ra at the Crossover Awards this month. I already knew I had a small circle of fans, and I'm quite aware that most fic awards don't mean all that much any more, but it's still very, very cheering to get this sort of seal of approval.

I was also nominated for an award at the Walk With Heroes site for my story They Also Serve. Voting there ends the day after tomorrow. Now, that one took me off guard; I haven't promoted that story anywhere at all in the last year or more.

If the title of that fic sounds unfamiliar to you, it's because I never posted it here -- TAS is third in a series of novel-length fics that I never quite got to the end of, and the writing is not quite up to my current standards. The first in the series, "Lesser Men", was the very first fan fiction I ever wrote, more than two years ago now. One day, perhaps, I'll go back and rewrite the series and finally tie up the loose ends ... but I wrote something like 200,000 words between the four extant novels (the fourth is WIP) and the interludes sandwiched between them. That's just the tiniest bit intimidating, y'know?

Honestly, while I love the epics, I think my skills are more suited to the shorter types of fic. The longest thing I've written since I abandoned the "Lesser Men" series was The Five Stages of Grief, which clocks in at just under 15,000 words. Hm. Doesn't speak well for my imaginary future career as a novelist. *grin*
