I think you can guess what my final book of 2008 was, if you've been following my posts. *g*

80. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. Paperback, 498pp. 1st of the Twilight series. Wow, do I ever have mixed feelings about this book. As a writer, technically, she's not bad; some of her descriptions, when she isn't plundering the thesaurus to describe Edward, were actually quite good. Particularly the bits where she was describing scenery, or delving into the vampires' histories. Pity that was such a small fraction of the book. The longer it went on, the more ill I got; I couldn't stand the way Bella began to dismiss everything and everyone else in her life as valueless compared to Edward, and how "I only do it because I love you" Edward became around her. *shudder* That's it for me, in this series.

I didn't make it to 100 like I did last year, but I did make 80, which works out to six and two-thirds books per month, or roughly one every four and a half days. They totalled 31,069 pages, for an average of 388 pages per book.

During 2007, I worried that reading so much would affect my writing; it didn't, for 2007 was my most productive fic-writing year yet. This year, I read less-- and also wrote about a quarter of what I did the previous year. I wonder what 2009 will bring?

Well, you know that there were extenuating circumstances with the writing!

2008 had a few issues that you had to deal with. RL may have stepped in a few times.
