My fingers are getting tired!

Dude. *yawn* There's no way I'm going to be able to keep up this pace for all of the August Ficathon; I think I'll stop with the fic-a-day bit after this first theme week is done. It's fun, and it's generated new chapters for some old series I'd let languish, but it's pretty much blocked me from doing anything else, and I have Big Bang fics I really should be working on instead.

I'll probably post early tomorrow, and late Saturday; there's going to be about 30 hours of travel time sandwiched there in the middle where I'll be unplugged. I'm taking the train down to California with my sister-in-law's sister, so we can ride with bro & sis in their separate cars on the drive back up. A round-trip adventure!

♥ to you all. Oh, and how many of you have watched Salt? Is there a fandom for it yet? 'Cause I can't find one.

I know, I'm exactly the same. I'm having such a blast with the fic-a-thon but I know that I'll only be able to go on like this for a little while longer. Between work and all the deadlines, something's going to have to give. But I got a few good little 'verses out of it.

I don't think Salt is released in Australia yet, is it any good?

Happy travels.

I saw posters for Salt today - the first I'd heard of it! And now it pops up again here!

All I know about it is that it stars Angela Jolie.

(What's the quote on your icon from?)

There was something on it this morning on Today and it looked all right. I just don't know if it's worth going to the cinemas or waiting for the dvd.

The quote is from Stargate: SG-1 season 9 episode Ethon. Daniel says it. :D

(grin) I was thinking maybe Buffy said it in an episode I hadn't seen, but Daniel fits even better - especially the "thinks a moment" bit. (grin). (Obviously I haven't seen Season 9 of SG-1, I kind of gave up after Season 5)

I'm impressed, though; you've been writing like there's no tomorrow. 8-)

I haven't seen it (looks interesting) but your fics have heightened my interest. It doesn't hurt that I like Angelina Jolie and Chiwetel Ejiofor (I've liked him ever since I saw him in Serenity).

I will probably be looking for a fandom too as soon as I see the movie. LOL

Enjoy your trip and don't forget to take pictures on the way back up! Which highways are you taking? I may be able to make suggestions for places to stop, if you're not driving straight through.

I enjoyed the movie, but it felt very exterior to me, if that makes sense—we don't see Salt processing things; we just watch her do things. Cool things, but still—seems like we need some fic to get inside her head.

I'm sort of hoping for a sequel. Salt's hardly a Bourne movie, but I enjoyed watching her in action, despite feeling detached. I don't feel the pull to write for that fandom, though; generally I stick with TV.

P.S. Your dad sounds awesome. :-D

That's it exactly—that they didn't change the role to pander to male audiences. I read an io9 interview (http://io9.com/5589284/how-angelina-jolie-fought-to-keep-salt-from-becoming-pretty) about how Salt was a BAMF who happened to be a woman.

I think I remember seeing a sex scene in the trailer, and am glad they cut it; perhaps I'm old-fashioned, but I think including that scene would have made the character into more of an object than a ... well, a force of nature, I guess is how I would describe her?

Oh, trains, I love train rides.

You're an inspiration to write, is what you are.
