"Catspaw" was the Halloween ep for that year and it was fun on that account. The little birdie-things creeped me out at the end of the story --- as they were meant to do, and it was a true alien species, not the Klingons or Metrons who were humans with costumes and makeup. I recall liking the sensuality of Bower and her seething hots for Kirk, and agree that his body language is instinctively just THERE; there was a fan magazine photo spread of him with his little girls that was awfully cute and real at that time. Of course, now Shatner's hamminess has not exactly matured, but I guess he's just aged into likeability.

"I, Mudd" was awful, I thought at the time, but now it seems to be a part of the genre-jumping that the show did, from comedy to farce to heavy-duty moralizing.

Youngest likes "Boston Legal" and Shatner's role in that is colossally suited to him.
