If I round all TV episodes (whether live or DVD) up to the nearest half-hour mark and all movies to two hours total, then add in repeat viewings, in 2011 I watched 555 hours of TV + 230 hours of movies = 785 total hours of on-screen entertainment, an average of 2.15 hours/day.
By comparison, I watched 777 in 2010, 677 in 2009, and 653 in 2008. The jump between 2009/2010 can probably be attributed to watching while exercising on the elliptical, because it stayed fairly steady between 2010/2011.
