jedibuttercup: (major davis)
So, why haven't I seen anyone talking about Major Paul Davis' evil twin John Pope on Falling Skies yet? I know Colin Cunningham's character isn't the star, and he isn't at all nice, but he's very unapologetic about it and quirky and just takes over every scene he's in. Hence why I'm still watching. Hmmm: idea. 'Cousin' meet-up after the first alien apocalypse to actually stick...?

I listened to the last shuttle launch on the radio this morning. End of an era. And much more breathtaking in those few minutes than the entirety of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon". (I spent those two hours wondering WTF I'd just spent ten dollars on; not to mention desperately fending off "fix it" plot bunnies involving time travel and/or Dresden and Marcone laying the smack down. Okay, and stuffing my fist in my mouth to stop myself from commenting on the irony of Leonard Nimoy's voice saying some of Sentinel Prime's dialogue... *snicker*)

I've read 70 books so far this year. I know I haven't been posting my usual reviews; I'm sorry. I tripped over some of the backlash of race!fail last year for liking a book which I was unaware had added to the fandom storm on the issue, and it made me wonder why I was bothering to give thumbs either up or down in a public venue. I've about recovered from being sensitive about people potentially drawing unsavory conclusions regarding my belief structure due to my entertainment preferences, though; so I think I'll post the half-year list with at least basic commentary this weekend.

PG, Sam/Jack; Stargate SG-1/Jane Austen. 500 words, for [livejournal.com profile] aella_irene.

There's a moment when Sam swears she can feel the wind in her hair, taste the salt on her tongue.
