A thought-- who says that the Alpha shift crew the first day out is the only bridge crew? Having no depth in the positions is the whole reason our very, very young crew ended up in their current seats in the first place. *grin*

(I hope to move my continuity timeline that far eventually; I still have some more of the Pike storyline to go, first.)
